Kubernetes is becoming the de facto standard in managing your applications. It provides you with a way to bring your applications to production.
In this course, you will learn the essentials of Kubernetes. We will discuss what it is, what you can do with it, and learn about the best practices. During the hands-on lab, we will deploy a micro-service to a cluster.

During this course, we take you through all the essentials of Kubernetes.
We start with all the possibilities Kubernetes provides you to deploy your application. All this theory is being shown during the hands-on lab. You will deploy micro-services to the Kubernetes cluster to show how everything works and make you familiar with the tools Kubernetes supplies. At the end of the course, you will have a good understanding of what Kubernetes has to offer and you can work with the essential features.

This training is suitable for everyone who wants a beginner’s perspective on Kubernetes and it will help you make the step from theory to practice.

You will learn the skills needed to run your application on a Kubernetes cluster. You will learn about what tools and resources Kubernetes provide to run your application in high-availability setups. You will know when you want to use Kubernetes and when you should not use it.

The first hour is theory. Then we will continue with a hands-on lab.
About the trainers
Alexei is a senior software engineer at OpenValue with over 15 years of experience in Java development and consulting. He specializes in building cloud-native applications and microservices using Quarkus, Spring Boot, and MicroProfile. Throughout his career, he has held various technical leadership roles including dev lead, technical architect, and DevOps engineer across multiple domains such as information security, telecommunications, and automotive.
As an active contributor to the Quarkus ecosystem, Alexei has made contributions to several open-source projects including dbunit, database-rider, junit5-kubernetes, smallrye-reactive-messaging, and Quarkus itself. He is passionate about optimizing development workflows and helping teams adopt best practices in continuous delivery, test-driven development, and clean code.
Alexei brings a wealth of practical experience to his training sessions, drawing from his extensive background in both backend and frontend development. His teaching approach focuses on practical, real-world scenarios and helping developers create maintainable, high-quality applications with Quarkus.
